My name is Jane McBride and I have been making purses and other accessories as a hobby for many years. In the fall of 2005 I took a leave of absence from Wachovia to take care of my mother Betty when she was diagnosed with cancer. After her death, I spent many hours contemplating starting a business that would allow me to share my creations with others who appreciate unique accessories. Family and friends encouraged me to follow my passion for crafts and turn this hobby into a full-time business. Thus I said goodbye to Wachovia after 20 years of service and began www.realbetty.com specializing in accessories and gifts that are far from ordinary! You will find a unique variety of purses, accessories and gifts that are sure to please. The items I offer are handcrafted with pride from artists and designers who lend a distinct and extraordinary flair to their craft. My love of crafts was one of the many gifts my mother passed on to me and in her honor I named the boutique for her (she would always say she was a "Real Betty" as opposed to a nickname) . The company logo is one of my favorite photographs that captures the panache of that "Real Betty".
